My general rule of thumb:
- must be noncomedogenic
- must fragrance-free, or at the very least no strong fragrance
- no harsh chemicals like alpha-hydroxyl acid, hydroquinone, glycolic acid, etc
- no salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide; these are awful for my skin T_T
- no whitening products
