Having made its name as a cult brand in Hollywood, Cosmelan is a breakthrough in depigmentation (whitening). The treatment works by the inhibition of an enzyme that causes the formation of melanin (tyrosine). It consists of a mixture of skin-friendly acids and antioxidants that aid to gently exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin, reducing the pigment blemishes. It acts rapidly, and does not give rise to the down time and severe flaking and redness that some harsh deep acid peels can cause.
There are numerous causes of woman suffering from pigmentation: melasma due to hormonal changes in pregnancy, menopause or taking the oral contraceptive pill. Treatment process:

A follow up appointment 7 days later is essential for me to assess and advise on your skincare regime, followed by regular follow-up appointments for review of your skin condition.

There is no age or gender restriction, and can be used all year round, for the face, décolletage and hands, suitable for all skin types. Timing permitting, I would prefer to review the treatment progress monthly for the first 3 months, followed by once every 2 months for another 6 months.
